Don't know what should be recorded in this blog. I will write down some sentences when reading the article in English. Young men are apt to think themselves wise enough, as drunken men are apt to think themselves sober enough. Speak of the moderns without contempt , and of the ancients without idolatry. Never seem wiser, nor more learned, than the people you are with. Wear your learning, like your watch, in a private pocket, and do not merely pull it out and strike it merely to show that you have one. Whoever is in a hurry shows that the thing he is about is too big for him. Any affectation whatsoever in dress implies, in my mind, a flaw in the understanding.

原文： by 李怡志 這麼多名單當中，最基本的就是「 Basic English 」的850字名單。「 Basic English 」（ 基本英語 ）是一個專有名詞，單字量小，而且文法簡單。根據我自己接觸年輕朋友的經驗，許多小朋友為了應付複雜的社會與爆炸的資訊，所以出社會後慢慢就忘記了基本英文單字。 維基百科的姊妹品「維基字典」有整理了 Basic English 850字彙表 （不用買書了，真的），每個字都有英語解釋，可以同時檢測自己漏了哪些基本單字與練習閱讀，一舉兩得是也！ 「簡化英語」版的維基百科也有同樣的 850 字彙表 整理，可以看看如何用這樣基本、簡化的字彙來描述這些單字。 這850基本單字中有200字是具象物品，有圖有真相。小朋友的單字本都是看圖識字的，別客氣，簡化英語版的維基百科也有這樣的 200 字圖像列表 。如果看這個列表不夠，可以在 Flickr 中查 tag，保證學得更快。（ex.: Nose 、 Sponge 、 Trousers ）
